Many NAWO member companies are working very hard to change their policy settings and leadership attitudes to men and parenting, as well as create frameworks to support parents to smoothly transition and integrate back into work.

At this Forum, we’ll hear from Parents@work Assessment and Education Manager, Sarah Cleasby, who brings a world of experience and runs Parents@work Family Friendly Workplaces education sessions and also works with companies to get them certified. Sarah will speak to us about standards to consider for organisations seeking certification.

Ben Wells, Superintendent Engineering at BHP, will also speak to his personal experience in sharing the care and how processes and policies within BHP are supporting himself and his partner Maja in their parenting journey.

We’ll also invite our member representatives to:

  • Share stories about systems and processes that support and encourage shared care
  • Explore challenges and barriers to shared care, including engagement from men, challenges for single parent families, extended family caring and elder care
  • Consider strategies for fostering more family friendly workplaces overall
