🏆 NAWO’s 100 Women in Operations celebrates real stories of women thriving in operational careers – the ones leading teams, solving problems, and showing what’s possible. It also recognises the organisations creating space for women to grow and lead in industries that haven’t always been gender balanced.

Today, we’re proud to celebrate Laheeb Al Turk from Orontide Group and welcome her to the NAWO 100 Women in Operations Wall of Fame!

Laheeb is an Operations Manager with almost 10 years of experience across Defence, commercial marine, and industrial services. She leads operations at Orontide, managing a team of more than 50 people and ensuring every project is delivered safely, on time, and to the highest standards. Her journey began in Iraq, where she chose to study electrical engineering – a field where women have historically been less represented. Those early experiences instilled resilience, determination, and a commitment to proving herself through hard work and results.

After relocating to Australia, Laheeb built her career in engineering and quality assurance before stepping into project coordination for Defence and later into operational leadership. Throughout her career, she has remained dedicated to fostering inclusive workplaces where everyone feels valued and supported.

Her primary drive is knowing that her work contributes to a rapidly evolving industry – and that her story may encourage others to pursue careers in operations, challenge stereotypes, and lead with confidence.

Nominated  for:
• Building her career across multiple countries and in historically male-oriented sectors. Modelling respect, integrity, and accountability – setting a clear standard and empowering her team to succeed.
• Maintaining a strong site presence, fostering a speak-up culture, championing safety, and challenging entrenched processes to deliver practical improvements in efficiency and outcomes.
• Demonstrating a deep commitment to inclusion and supporting diversity initiatives across the business – hiring female apprentices, supporting International Women’s Day activities, and encouraging women in technical roles to step forward for leadership opportunities.

Congratulations, Laheeb, on being recognised as one of NAWO’s 100 Women in Operations.
