The NAWO 100 Women in Operations campaign exists to share real stories of women thriving in operational careers – showcasing possibility, pathways and progress for the next generation.

Today, we’re proud to welcome Alice Makardij to the NAWO 100 Women in Operations Wall of Fame.

Beginning her career as a junior chemical engineer in a desalination plant in the Middle East, Alice built a strong technical foundation through a master’s degree before completing a PhD specialising in membrane separation technologies in New Zealand.

Her career spans technical, commercial and leadership roles across global organisations. Currently at George Weston Foods as a Commercial Director – Growth and Innovation, she leads food innovation and sales teams with a focus on strong customer relationships, sustainable growth and building cultures where people feel empowered to succeed.

Alice was nominated for:

  • Being a highly respected and trusted leader in her field
  • Consistently earning credibility in complex and challenging environments through intelligence and dedication
  • Actively developing new talent and championing women and emerging leaders in manufacturing and STEM

Congratulations Alice and welcome to the NAWO 100 Women in Operations Wall of Fame.
