NAWO exists to see gender balance valued and achieved at every level in operations. Within historically male-oriented sectors we advocate for a target minimum of 40% female representation at every level, (40% women, 40% men and 20% of any gender).

Negative Impacts of Gender Inequality

In many Australian workplaces, gender imbalance is the norm. Women are underrepresented in key decision-making roles making up just 22% of CEOs and 34% of key management positions across all industries (WGEA 2023-2024).
