NAWO Newcastle invites you to a refreshing and insightful morning by the ocean to explore women’s health topics that aren’t always spoken about openly.
‘From Shore to Strength: Women’s Health in the Spotlight’ is a welcoming event designed to spark connection, learning, and honest conversation. Over coffee, tea, and a light morning tea, we’ll explore menopause, mental health, and neurodiversity with two expert speakers who bring both clinical expertise and lived experience.
🎤 Dr Phoebe Walsh – GP Specialist at Brightwell Health and Staff Specialist at the Hunter New England Menopause Hub.
A proud Novocastrian, Phoebe is a Staff Specialist at the Hunter New England Menopause Hub, and also serves as Director and Co-Founder of Brightwell Health – a Newcastle-based clinic delivering comprehensive, multi-disciplinary care with a mission to set a new benchmark for women’s health in Australia. With advanced qualifications in reproductive and sexual health, she has worked with Family Planning NSW and led projects to improve access to reproductive care across regional NSW.
🎤 Associate Professor Karen Hazell-Raine – Associate Professor and Head of Discipline (Mental Health) at the University of Newcastle.
Karen is the Associate Professor, Mental Health, and Head of Discipline, Mental Health, with the School of Nursing and Midwifery, College of Health, Medicine and Wellbeing.
