Following on from our popular sessions on resumes and personal branding, the NAWO NSW Committee and Michael Page are back with the third instalment in their career development series, and this one is all about the interview.
Getting an interview is one thing. Walking in prepared, confident, and clear on what you bring is another. Whether you’re putting your hand up for a promotion within your current organisation or exploring what’s out there with a recruiter, the skills and preparation look different in each situation. This session covers both.
You’ll hear from two perspectives: what an internal promotion process typically looks like, what decision-makers pay attention to, and how to position yourself effectively from the inside; and what recruiters are really looking for when they sit across the table from you, how to prepare, and what helps candidates stand out.
Returning presenter Georgina O’Brien, Associate Director at Michael Page, brings more than 13 years of recruitment experience and will speak to the external interview process.
Diane Utatao, DEI specialist and NAWO NSW Committee member will discuss the interview from an internal promotion perspective. Drawing on her deep knowledge and expertise in HR Management, Talent Acquisition and as a Career Transition Coach, Diane will:
- share valuable insights on how to position yourself before the role is even advertised;
- what to expect and how to prepare with confidence for the interview and
- how to leave a memorable impression.
Come straight from work, grab a soft drink, and spend an hour and a half building skills you’ll use for the rest of your career. There will be drinks, light refreshments, and plenty of time to connect with others in the network.
