In this instalment of the What a Career series, NAWO CEO Louise Weine sits down with Fiona Holland, CEO of Tri-Tech Chemical Company, one of NAWO’s 100 Women in Operations, and a frequent mentor with the NAWO Mentoring Program.

Fiona is a qualified Chemical Engineer with more than 35 years of experience across operations, supply chain, and project management, with a career spanning ICI, Orica, Qenos, and Tri-Tech. Throughout that career she has been a consistent champion for others, supporting women to progress in STEM and operations, and bringing that same commitment to her work as a NAWO mentor. Outside her professional role, she also runs a 100-head beef cattle property in rural Victoria.

This session falls just two days after International Women in Engineering Day (23 June), a global celebration recognising the contributions of women across the engineering profession. It’s a fitting moment to hear from someone who has not only built a remarkable career in engineering and operations, but has spent years actively investing in the careers of others.

In conversation with Louise, Fiona will share what has shaped her journey, what she’s learned about leadership in a male-oriented industry, and why mentoring, both giving and receiving, has been one of the most important threads running through her career.

What to expect:

  • Insights from Fiona’s wide-ranging career in chemical engineering and operations
  • Reflections on navigating a male-oriented industry over more than three decades
  • An honest conversation about mentoring, sponsorship, and supporting others to progress
