What does it take to create workplaces where women can thrive across every stage of their careers—early, mid, and late—while navigating teams made up of four very different generations? In this powerful keynote hosted by the NAWO QLD Committee, Dr Joe Azzopardi, researcher and specialist in intergenerational collaboration and inclusive leadership, delves into the dynamics shaping today’s multi generational workforce and how they uniquely influence women’s progression in operational environments.

From credibility gaps facing early career women to the mounting pressures of the mid career care load, Joe explores how generational misunderstandings, communication friction, and gender age bias combine to block the leadership pipeline. He reveals why fixing cross generational trust is one of the most overlooked levers for gender balance—and how organisations can take practical steps to rebuild it.

Drawing on evidence, lived experience, and real world case studies, Joe brings clarity to the systemic issues that hold women back and offers a practical framework leaders can apply immediately to unlock operational performance through unity, respect, and intentional collaboration.
